February 1, 2010 Chemtec Completes Expansion of its Fabrication Shop

Chemtec Energy Services, LLP is proud to announce the completion of an expansion project at its fabrication shop in Willis, Texas. This project adds another 7,000 square feet to Chemtec’s existing shop space. The new space will be used for Chemtec’s custom fabrication business which has seen steady growth over the past few years. The new shop space includes a 6-ton electric bridge crane with twin hoists plus three 1-ton jib cranes. As part of the expansion project, Chemtec also purchased an additional subarc welder and several new positioners. Chemtec has also filled several new positions for its new shop including structural and pipe welders.
The layout of the existing and new shop floors has also been completely redesigned to improve workflow. The new shop building will house all the fitting and welding stations, and the existing shop will be used for assembly and testing. The new shop floor didn't sit empty for long. Even before the power was on in the new buiding, the space was being used to house a number of ongoing and completed projects.
“We had completely outgrown our existing shop space, so the new addition will be a big help”, stated Milton Page, Chemtec’s President. “Our production capacity will be increased significantly, and we can also handle much larger projects. In fact, we are currently working on a project utilizing 42" pipe". |
Chemtec will be hosting an open house in the near future to showcase the new building and equipment.
